Suggested Tip Amounts

  • Driver-Guides: A tip of $10 to $20 per day per group is recommended, based on the level of service provided.

  • Camping Safari Crew: For camping trips, it is thoughtful to give $5 to $10 per day per group to camp staff, including cooks and assistants.

  • Lodge Personnel: Tipping hotel or lodge staff like waiters and housekeeping is optional but appreciated. $5 to $10 per room per day is a common standard.

Currency and Payment Method

  • Tips are typically offered in U.S. dollars (USD) or Tanzanian shillings (TZS).

  • Cash is preferred, and tips can be handed directly to staff or collected and distributed by the lead guide.

Group Tip Coordination
When traveling as a group, pooling tips ensures everyone on the service team is acknowledged fairly and simplifies the process.
