Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha – Welcome to Tanzania

  • Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), meet your safari guide.

  • Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport, you’ll be warmly greeted by your private safari guide. After a brief introduction and assistance with your luggage, enjoy a scenic transfer to your lodge in Arusha—approximately 45 to 90 minutes depending on traffic.

  • As you settle into your midrange accommodation, take time to relax after your journey. Stroll through the gardens, enjoy the mountain air, or take a dip in the pool. Before dinner, your guide will provide a brief orientation on the safari ahead, covering key highlights and answering any questions.

  • In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at the lodge, featuring a selection of local and international dishes—a perfect start to your Tanzanian adventure.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park – Elephant Paradise

  • After breakfast, check out and begin your scenic 2.5-hour drive to Tarangire National Park, a hidden gem known for its dramatic landscapes, ancient baobab trees, and vast concentrations of wildlife. Upon arrival, embark on a full-day game drive, exploring the riverine forests, savannah woodlands, and seasonal swamps that make this park uniquely diverse.

  • Keep your eyes open for large elephant herds, tree-climbing lions, leopards, giraffes, and more than 500 species of birds. The Tarangire River, which flows year-round, becomes a critical gathering point during the dry season, attracting game in impressive numbers.

  • At midday, enjoy a picnic lunch at a shaded viewpoint within the park. In the afternoon, continue your wildlife search as the light softens and animals become more active.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater – Big Five Safari.

  • After an early breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, arriving at the crater rim in time for a dramatic descent into this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Often referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” the Ngorongoro Crater is home to over 25,000 animals, including all of the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and the endangered black rhino.

  • Spend the morning on a game drive across the crater floor, exploring its grasslands, freshwater springs, and alkaline lakes teeming with flamingos, hippos, hyenas, and antelope. Day 4: Central Serengeti – Predator Capital of Africa

  • After an early breakfast, set out for a full-day game drive in the Central Serengeti, a region celebrated for its incredible predator density and dramatic wildlife encounters. This is the heart of the Serengeti ecosystem—home to resident lion prides, elusive leopards lurking in sausage trees, and cheetahs that roam the open plains.

     

  • Your guide will lead you through diverse habitats, with a strong focus on the Seronera Valley, a permanent water source and one of the park’s richest wildlife corridors. Here, you have excellent chances of spotting the Big Cats in action, along with elephants, giraffes, hippos, buffalo, and countless species of birds and antelope. During certain times of year (typically April–June and October–December), this area also hosts parts of the Great Migration, with herds of wildebeest and zebras on the move.

     

  • Enjoy a picnic lunch in a shaded spot within the park, giving you time to relax before continuing your afternoon exploration across the golden savannah. Take in the sweeping views, kopjes (rock outcrops), and possibly a dramatic wildlife interaction before returning to camp.

The drive takes approximately 2 to 3 hours, but is part of the day’s adventure, with game viewing opportunities throughout the transfer as you pass through ever-changing terrain and wildlife zones.

     

  • This northern sector becomes the focal point of the Great Migration between July and October, when thousands of wildebeest and zebras gather at the Mara River, building up to heart-pounding river crossings. These crossings are among the most sought-after safari experiences in Africa—watch as herds plunge into crocodile-infested waters in a bid for survival, often shadowed by big cats and other predators along the banks.

This region, known for its rolling hills and riverine woodlands, is a wildlife haven—particularly during the Great Migration season (July–October) when massive herds of wildebeest and zebras crowd the Mara River and surrounding plains.

  • Your guide will track wildlife movement in real-time, giving you the best possible chance to witness a Mara River crossing—a dramatic and unpredictable event where herds leap into crocodile-filled waters in search of fresh grazing lands. In addition to migration action, the area is home to resident predators and iconic species including elephants, giraffes, leopards, rhinos, and lion prides.

  • Enjoy a picnic lunch in a scenic wilderness setting, and continue your afternoon game drive through valleys, rocky outcrops, and open plains. By late afternoon, return to camp to freshen up, relax by the campfire, and enjoy the tranquil ambiance of the bush.

Depending on your flight schedule, you’ll be transferred to the Kogatende Airstrip for your scenic bush flight back to Arusha—a journey of approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, offering breathtaking aerial views of the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Highlands, and Rift Valley landscapes.

  • Upon landing in Arusha, you’ll be greeted and continue with your private transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your outbound flight home

     

  • For guests who prefer to return by road, a full-day overland transfer (approx. 10–11 hours) can be arranged as an alternative to the flight, with optional stops en route.
